I’ve been using this for about two months. This is three times more expensive than what I used to use, and it’s totally worth it.I just hope it holds up for at least a year. I’ve used a series of drive medical folding cane chairs, over the years. Those are really only good when you’re actually sitting on them. They aren’t great for walking. And they really look like medical gear. On those, the main bolt that pivots the legs out gets loose and it’s impossible to keep tight. So it unfolds itself while you’re walking. And then it bangs into your legs and things in your environment. Also the three legs at the bottom are just too wide for a cane bottom, and if you’re carrying things or wearing a long coat or walking with someone, they get in the way.The Ta-da has that smart and stable tripod design, so you can use it on uneven surfaces like gravel, grass, and even slight slopes. But when folded it’s nice and slim and there’s nothing to bash into your legs. It’s pleasant to use as a cane. It’s light and the handle and the weight is nicely balanced. It swings nicely under your hand.It also has a fold out hook, which is excellent because you can hang it anywhere when you sit down or need to use your hands. You don’t need the environment to have a hook in it. That sounds little but it’s actually huge for usability. The drive medical has a closed oval handle, so you can only hang it when there is a hook. And there is almost never a hook. The two weigh the same, so the TA-da wins for me.My only concern for this product is will the seat latch last?To me, it looks more like some kind of strange, sleek modern design-y umbrella or hiking gear than a cane. Which is a good thing. More sporty , less orthopedic.I’m about to buy a second to have as a backup. I do wish it came in more color choices besides the bright satin silver legs. Such as matte black or a satin grey or even navy blue. I got black and silver. I didn’t like the red and brown seat choices.I've tried many seat canes, ones that look like folding chairs, ones with the two extra feet sticking out, straight up bringing a folding chair with me.None of them are as light, ergonomic, and fast to use as this one. The grip is large and sturdy, with the only downside being that I don't find that grippy enough, but that is easily fixed with over grip which is the kind of grip tape you find on tennis rackets.I'm a fibromyalgia sufferer and before, I've accepted that I just won't be able to go anywhere that requires more than 15 minutes of standing even with a cane. But with this cane, just sitting for 30 seconds while walking around at the mall is enough to recharge me for another 5 minutes walking. I now go out to malls, walks, hikes, everywhere much more confidently than I have before. The short bursts of sitting really have reduced my flare ups.I do a LOT of concerts. They don't have a problem with you carrying a cane. But they frown on carrying in a chair or seat. This killed two birds with one stone. It's VERY comfortable to walk with, and it's lightweight. It folds up and expands very, very easily. I highly recommend.I bought this cane to go to Disneyland because I thought I couldn't stand in the long lines. Disneyland would not let me use it in the lines so wound up renting a scooter from them. The scooter couldn't go in the merchandise stores but the cane was allowed so it did serve a very good purpose. Glad I purchased it.I mainly use the TaDa when I go on long walks. I sometimes need to sit in order to rest my back. Perfect as a walking stick and chair combinationTook this jewel on our last cruise. Came in real handy starting on day one while waits at the airport for the bus to the cruise ship. We waited over an hour. I was the only one with a seat. Every one was very envious.Very light weight. Easy to deploy seat. Exactly what my 70's back and knees need to rest when walking like at zoo. But...so very very overpriced for materials in construction. Oh well. The times we live in...Easy to carry. Works as a cane (if the length is right for you. It does not adjust for height). Light weight. Smaller profile when closed than most alternative products. Easy and quick to open and close. Provides a small but stable seat. Well designed. Solidly made. A quality product. Would purchase again.
