The best - great purchaseI volunteer at a lot of beach events for those with disabilites and I have had the rather unfortunate experience of trying all of the available wheelchairs on the market including Mobi Chairs, Rolleez and Hippocamp chairs. As far as the Mobi Chair, the pivoting front wheel, while it seems like a good idea, is constantly getting turned to the side which causes the chair to halt abruptly, usually resulting in sending the chair occupant face-first into the sand. They are unbelievably difficult to push when someone is seated in them (I'm young and fully able bodied, but I literally couldn't propel a 180 pound adult 10 feet in soft sand in this thing), they can't handle even small bumps/ridges in the sand and they're difficult for spinal cord injury patients to transition to and from. They might work well if you are going to be at a pool with decking or pavement for someone elderly who can ambulate short distances. It's nice that you can take them into the water, but goodluck trying to keep someone balanced going through even gentle small surf on a beach. If you're looking for a BEACH wheelchair, I'd suggest you get a SandRider - it's the same price point and a far superior design and product. This is an awesome product! I am an incomplete quadriplegic and know this chair from the perspective of a disabled person. I first used this on the Jersey Shore at Wildwood Crest. This chair allowed an experience of riding the waves, being fully immersed in the ocean water...not just sitting in a few inches of water on the shore watching everyone else in the surf which is all you can do in some beach wheelchairs. It is boring just sitting there looking at the ocean...nice but not like being in the water. When done riding the waves (because this chair DOES FLOAT and despite rough Atlantic ocean waves that were knocking people over...this chair did not flip over), it is very comfortable to sunbathe in and read a book...the back reclines...it is so sweet! Now going over soft sand, it can take 2 people...one to pull (a rope with handle on it attaches to the front of the chair) and the other person to push unless you purchase a roll out mat that is about 10 feet long. Pushing the chair on this mat prevents the chair from sinking into soft sand as much which makes it easier for AB's to help the disabled wave rider. So if you want a full beach experience, then this chair is for you!Best thing ever!!!!
