The description says aluminum frame. I assumed it would be all aluminum.The weight is 8.7 lbs. This is almost 3/4 lb. more than the stated in description.The frame has steel components. The seat frame appears to be powder coated steel, a magnet strongly attracts. The backrest frame does not attract a magnet. The 2 feet (that touch the ground) are aluminum but may have steel inserts/reinforcement inside the tubing. A magnet does not stick to the very bottom of the feet, but does stick lightly to the tubing between the rivets. The cross brace on the front foot is also powder coated steel. The chairs are sturdy and appear to be well made. I purchased them for beach use, so the amount of non aluminum is of some concern. The stated 300 lb. capacity may be why some frame components have steel, but that is not what I thought I was purchasing.Additionally,The pillow on one of the chairs has a grease pencil mark on it. Looks like a number 6.The pillow does not have Velcro holding it in place. So it flops around when carrying.The shoulder strap is on the ground (in the sand) when the chair is set up for sitting.If I was shopping for beach chairs, I probably would have made another selection or kept looking if I had the information I provided here.
